Graphite is pleased to be participating in the Apple Approved keyboard replacement program for all MacBook and MacBook Pro models from 2016 and up. The procedure at Graphite is as follows:
Make an appointment to bring your Mac notebook in to one of our locations through the Apple service portal www.support.apple.com/repair and choose the best time and location for your appointment.
Please be sure to back up of all of your data via Time Machine or iCloud before your appointment.
Graphite’s friendly staff will run some quick diagnostics on your machine to determine eligibility and functionality and then proceed with the service process. Most keyboards are replaced by a new Apple keyboard in about 3-5 business days but the service time may vary depending on the type of Service and availability of parts.
***Note: If your MacBook, MacBook Air, or MacBook Pro has any damage which impairs the service, that issue will need to be repaired first. In some cases, there may be a cost associated with the repair.
Apple has determined that a small percentage of the keyboards in certain MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro models may exhibit one or more of the following behaviors:
- Letters or characters repeat unexpectedly
- Letters or characters do not appear
- Key(s) feel “sticky” or do not respond in a consistent manner
